Richard Marasco is a 37+ year veteran of the financial services industry. He spent 20 years with The Prudential as an Agent, Sales Manager and Managing Director. In his 12 years as Managing Director, Richard earned multiple company citations and in 2000 built one of the leading fee-based financial planning divisions at Prudential. After Prudential, Richard went on to work for MetLife where he was Vice President of Sales for the Pacific Agency Group and oversaw career agencies in the Western United States. Since then, Richard has excelled in his role as President of various Field Marketing Organizations including The Annuity Store, CFC Capital Partners and Life Sales. In 2010, Richard was a recipient of GAMA’s First in Class Award and in 2013 was the recipient of the Allianz Life Marketing Guru Award. A native of California, Richard earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.
Rich and his wife, Kim, reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and do their two adult sons. He enjoys outdoor activities: bird hunting, trout fishing, golf, and is an avid baseball fan.
Jim Green is responsible for actively managing and training the Marketing Consultants and external sales team at The Annuity Store. Jim has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career on the retail side of the business at Morgan Stanley and later spent over 5 years at Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America where he held a variety of positions within a sales capacity. His tenure included a stretch on the fixed sales desk as an internal wholesaler, training Field Marketing Organization (FMO) distribution marketers as a Sr. Sales Trainer and working directly with agents and advisors as an external wholesaler. Jim utilizes the skills he has acquired in these positions to help establish a full service annuity platform including an uncommonly strong team of credentialed professional marketers with unrivaled experience in annuity income planning and product case design, digital and in-person advisor training program and a robust financial professional value-add platform. It is this package of services that has led to consistent growth for financial professionals who choose The Annuity Store.
Jim graduated from the University of St. Thomas with dual degrees in Finance and Economics. He has completed the Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program at UC Davis and also attained the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation through the American College. He holds his life insurance license in Minnesota and California.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys snow skiing, competing in triathlons and road biking.
Jerry Vanderzanden leads The Annuity Store’s life insurance division, overseeing a team on the cutting edge of life insurance selling strategies. Jerry brings over 30 years of experience in financial services, having built life premium with executive positions at Foresters, American General, and MetLife and held roles in a range of areas like distribution and marketing management, product management, operations, and advanced sales. He later cofounded Coastal Financial Partners Group, building an advanced life insurance general agency.
Jerry is a member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting and the National Association of Insurance, and Financial Advisors. He is president of The Golden Gate Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, and he holds designations as a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College. He has FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 registrations, and has a resident life and health insurance license in California.
Jerry, his wife Kathryn and two sons live in the San Francisco East Bay area.
Michael Petersen has spent over a decade wholesaling for the largest life insurance brokerage companies in the nation. He brings experience supporting agents at every level of expertise. At The Annuity Store, Michael develops advanced life and annuity sales concepts and markets, as well as large case oversight and development, including advanced annuity concepts and markets. Prior to his wholesaling career Michael was an independent financial advisor and insurance agent. With extensive experience in the estate planning strategies/wealth transfer market Michael helps agents differentiate themselves from the competition with creative solutions for complex problems. Michael holds the following industry qualifications: Series 6, 63 and 7 registration as well as his California Insurance license.
Michael and his wife, Jennifer, enjoy skiing, golfing and traveling when they are not playing with their son Thomas.
